KIJHL Titans Clash in Kimberley to Kickoff Weekend

Eight games are on the schedule this weekend in the Eddie Mountain Division, including Friday’s premier matchup in the KIJHL between the Kimberley Dynamiters and Nelson Leafs.

The biggest matchup of the KIJHL season to date, both Kimberley and Nelson enter the Civic Centre on Friday with 33 points as the Dynamiters boast a 16-2-0-1 record through 19 games while the Leafs are 15-4-0-3 in 22 games. The two KIJHL heavyweights go toe-to-toe at 7:00 pm.

However, that matchup will be the second of the weekend for Nelson as they already opened up their schedule with a stop in Fernie on Thursday. The Ghostriders bested the Leafs 6-4, despite being outshot 48-33 as Dylan Defosse (2G, 1A) and Jordon Kromm (2G) led Fernie’s offensive attack.

The Ghostriders continue their three-game weekend on the road Friday in Castlegar before closing out the weekend in Spokane on Saturday.
