Recent thunderstorms in our region have led to wildfires popping up across the area.
One new blaze was discovered on Tuesday by Cranbrook near New Lake.
It’s out of control and approximately 0.30 hectares.
It’s believed to be lightning-caused.
The fire by Baynes Lake is now being held. B.C.’s emergency map has it at 1.68 hectares and lightning caused.
A fire west of Radium Hot Springs popped up on Tuesday. It’s near Horsethief Creek Powerline Road and around 0.01 hectares.
The cause of this one is still unknown.
A lightning-caused fire was also discovered yesterday near Golden in the Canyon Creek area.
It’s out of control and approximately 0.01 hectares.
