The reconstruction of Jim Ogilvie Way from Highway 95A to Rails to Trails crossing in Marysville is now underway.
The first phase of the project will see the removal of the existing asphalt.
The goal is to replace aging underground infrastructure and enhance the quality of the road surface.
City staff said there will be disruptions to both vehicle and pedestrian traffic throughout construction.
Jim Ogilvie Way will be closed to through traffic for the majority of the project.
Construction should wrap up in the fall.
