Marysville Storage zoning change heads to public hearing

A public hearing will be held for a zoning change that could see a McDonald’s come to Marysville.

First reading on the bylaw amendment was given back in February. More details on the proposal can be found here.

Mayor Don McCormick says it’s important that a public hearing is held to ensure the community has a voice in the matter.

“Not moving to a public hearing on this or any other public hearing for that matter is not going to provide the kind of well-balanced conversation that we need to have regardless of how one side feels or the other side feels,” he said.

“We need to go to a public hearing to ensure fairness is covered.”

There will be two opportunities for the public to give their thoughts.

An in-person meeting will take place on June 27 at 7 p.m. at McKim Theatre.

A second phone-in-only meeting will happen the next day on the 28th at 7 p.m.
