Over 30 speeding tickets were handed out to drivers heading through the Elk Valley over the long weekend.
Multiple written warnings were given out, four drivers were charged with distracted driving and two immediate roadside prohibitions for impaired driving were handed out.
An officer noted that the highway was “full of horrifically bad drivers.”
In one incident, a vehicle was clocked going 147 km/hr.
There were three accidents attended by police, one of which closed Highway 3 briefly on May 19.
Police said there were no serious injuries.
