A two-vehicle collision on Highway 1 has claimed the life of a Golden resident.
Police were called out to the crash about 20 km east of the Rogers Pass Visitor Centre at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Police believe a red Jeep Cherokee, travelling east on Highway 1, didn’t make a right-hand bend in the road and collided with an oncoming westbound pick-up truck.
The driver of the Jeep, a 44-year-old Golden resident was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the pick-up sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are continuing to investigate.
The highway was closed for several hours.
