Kootenay Fun 5 raises close to $10,000

The 2023 Kootenay Fun 5 was deemed a success, raising close to $10,000.

Race organizer Trisha Reimer says they raised between $9,000 and $10,000.

She says the money will be used for upgrades at Kootenay Christian Academy.

“It typically goes towards technology or sports equipment.”

She says it was nice that the run could get back to normal after the pandemic.

“Everybody was so happy to be back together and spirits were high. People were just excited to be there and everyone seemed to love it. It was so nice to be back together as a community.”

Over 600 people took part in the race that took place on May 13.
