Four people arrested in two vehicles after police ramming

Cranbrook RCMP, with help from the Kimberley detachment, has arrested four people in two vehicles after one of the suspects rammed police.

RCMP officials said they were on the lookout for a black F350 dually pick-up truck that was stolen out of the Columbia Valley on Friday morning.

Cranbrook RCMP members set up a containment area and deployed a spike belt, hoping to stop the vehicle.

Officials said the F350 was joined by a silver F150, and both vehicles managed to evade police.

Officers found the vehicles later and set up a second spike belt, and with the help of a helicopter, the suspects were taken into custody when they were located along a forest service road.

“The suspects located in the vehicles are persons of interest in a series of thefts in and around the Cranbrook area,” said Cst Katie Forgeron. “They remain in police custody at this time as we continue to investigate.”

RCMP also asks the public to keep an eye out for any missing items.

“Police are also asking anyone who might have picked up some tools in the Highway 95A and Tata Creek Road area to contact them as the tools were also stolen and fell out of the suspect vehicle,” said Forgeron. “If you located the tools we ask that you reach out to the Kimberley RCMP, or drop them off at the detachment.”
