Transfer station open house to be held in Radium

The Regional District of East Kootenay is holding an open house at the end of the month to share details on the new Radium Transfer Station.

The open house will take place on May 30 from 5-7 p.m. at the Radium Hot Springs Centre.

“The Open House will provide residents with an opportunity to see the proposed site layout, learn more about the expanded services that will be available at the site and ask questions of staff,” said RDEK Environmental Services Manager, Kevin Paterson.

The transfer station will be adjacent to the village’s Wastewater Treatment Plant and across from the Canfor log yard.

Construction is slated to begin this summer and wrap up by the end of the year.

“The Open House will be informal, so people are welcome to drop in and come and go as they wish. For those who are unable to make it, all of the information will be also be available on the project page and through the RDEK,” added Paterson.
