Kimberley council doles out resident directed grants

The City of Kimberley has distributed over $103,000 to local organizations through the Columbia Basin Trust resident directed grant program.

In total, $103,032.53 was spread among 38 different groups and organizations.

A community meeting was held on April 19 so grant applicants could present to council.

Council filled out a spreadsheet to determine money allocation.

The Sullivan Mine and Railway Historical Society received the most money, getting $7,227.

The Kimberley Nordic Club got $6,276 and the Ktunaxa/Kinbasket Child and Family Services Society received $6,021.
