Chipping event being held in Baltac

Baltac residents are invited to an East Kootenay FireSmart chipping event planned for the end of the month.

“Now is a great time to look at your yard and think about which things are going to become hazardous during wildfire season,” said Local FireSmart Representative Thomas Dobbin.

“Disposing of these materials will make your home more resilient to wildfire and help work toward protecting your community as a whole.”

Accepted materials include tree and shrub debris.

Debris can be left at the end of your driveway for pickup.

It can be left out from May 29 to June 12.

This applies to residents of Baltac Road, Hilltop Road, Nappe Road, and Peddley Road.
