Update: Police have arrested a suspect in regards to the aggravated assault that took place on Thursday evening.
Police say the arrest was made Saturday morning and they are still in custody.
Witnesses are still asked to come forward to assist in the investigation.
Original: Police in Cranbrook are searching for witnesses to an assault along Ridgeview Road on Thursday evening.
Police said they got a call around 6:30 p.m. regarding a fight on the “berm” in the 1400-block of Ridgeview Rd.
The caller said multiple people were involved.
Police found a person with a serious head injury. He was taken to hospital and is still in serious condition.
“We have been actively investigating this incident and have extensive resources searching for the individuals involved,” says Cst. Katie Forgeron.
“At this time, we are asking anyone who might have any information about this assault to come forward to help us advance the investigation.”
