Cranbrook RCMP arrest prolific offender who passed out in stolen truck

Cranbrook RCMP has arrested a man wanted on six warrants with over 40 outstanding charges after he passed out in a stolen truck.

Police officials said they initially received a report at 7 a.m. on Wednesday of a black 2021 Dodge Ram that had gone missing overnight from Innes Avenue.

About an hour later, RCMP responded to a call about a man passed out in a truck on along 22nd Avenue.

Police learned that it was the same truck that was stolen earlier that morning, and the man in the driver’s seat was wanted on several warrants and had numerous outstanding charges.

“Cranbrook RCMP has recommended additional charges of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000, and four (4) counts of Failing to Comply with an Order,” said police officials.

The man has been remanded in custody pending a future court date.
