Cranbrook lifts spring load restriction

The City of Cranbrook has lifted its spring load restrictions as the weather warms up.

City officials said the load restrictions were initially placed on Cranbrook’s roads on March 20 to reduce road damage due to thawing winter frost.

All of Cranbrook’s streets that were reduced to 70 per cent of legal axel loading can now return to normal traffic use.

“This comes on the heels of the decision of the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MOTI) to lift their regional load restriction notices on Monday, May 8,” said the City of Cranbrook.
