Water quality advisory issued in Kimberley

Due to the spring freshet, turbidity levels are rising in Kimberley’s water supply and the city has issued a water quality advisory.

Water levels are currently fair which means boiling water isn’t mandatory but is recommended for some people.

Water intended for drinking, washing fruits and vegetables, making juice or ice, or brushing teeth should be boiled for one minute if you are at risk.

Interior Health recommends that children, the elderly, people with weakened immune systems and anyone seeking additional protection boil their water.

Public facilities will also need to post signage at all sinks or drinking water fountains accessible to the public.
