The District of Sparwood is ready to start eradicating those pesky mosquitos in their larval state.
Sparwood has been running a mosquito control program for over 20 years.
The goal is to reduce their numbers to tolerable levels while they are still larvae. The program doesn’t target adult mosquitos.
Mosquitos only need water and 7-10 days to hatch.
The district is asking residents to do their part and empty any water-holding containers like bird baths, buckets, tires or tarped-off equipment.
