Rockies defenceman signs with SJHL team

A defenceman for the Columbia Valley Rockies is moving up a rung and joining the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.

Riley Cormier has signed with the Melfort Mustangs for the 2023/24 season.

Last season he had 17 points in 39 games, while also spending 72 minutes in the sin-bin.

“Playing in Columbia Valley was very good for my development,” said Cormier in a release.

“I felt like I matured as a player and learned a lot playing for Emery Olauson. I am very excited for my opportunity next year with the Melfort Mustangs.”
