‘Definitely the best player in the KIJHL’ Nitros head coach reflects on Cam Reid’s season

Cam Reid of the Dynamiters had a stellar season leading his team in defensive stats while also being near the top of the league.

Reid tallied 15 goals and 25 assists in 40 during the regular season. That was good for first in defensive points on the Dynamiters and third in the league.

He also led the league in goals by a defenceman.

He was even better in the playoffs, putting up five goals and 16 assists in 23 games.

“I think he cranked it up to another level in the final series,” said head coach Derek Stuart.

“He was a huge factor in all four of our wins and even some of the games we weren’t able to win.”

Stuart says he is good enough to be in a different league.

“I’ve lost count of the people who have asked me how come he’s in this league and not in Junior A,” he added.

“He’s definitely the best player in the KIJHL.”

Reid and the rest of the team will now compete in the Cyclone Taylor Cup, which runs from April 13-16.
