Those on the Holland Creek water system will have to boil their water before using it until further notice.
The Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK) issued the advisory at noon on Tuesday.
Any water meant for drinking, washing fruits or vegetables, making juice or ice, or brushing teeth should be held at a rolling boil for at least one minute before use.
“This notice is a result of the water being turned on at the PrairieWIND Development and associated flushing and sampling,” said RDEK officials.
The boil water notice will remain in effect until lab results are confirmed.
