Ice climber dies after fall in Columbia Valley

Police in the Columbia Valley say an ice climber has died after falling approximately 30 feet.

According to the Columbia Valley RCMP, it happened on Thursday 25 kilometres up the Kootenay River Forest Service Road.

The climber’s friend, a passerby and a worksite ambulance conducted life-saving measures until Emergency Health Services could arrive.

Sadly the climber succumbed to his injuries.
