Sewer and waterworks rates on the rise in Kimberley

Kimberley’s city council has approved an increase for both sewer and wastewater rates, which will be in effect on Jan. 1.

Sewer rates will go up five per cent in 2023. It will raise the cost of the current sewer rate for a single-family dwelling by $5.22 from $104.52 to $109.74 per quarter.

The city will make approximately an extra $100,800 per year.

Wastewater rates are also going up but only by two per cent.

It will now cost $2.43 more per quarter for a single-family dwelling.

This will make the city an estimated additional $47,000 per year.
