City of Cranbrook issues reminder about Christmas recycling

The City of Cranbrook is reminding residents about what Christmas waste can be recycled and what can’t.

City staff said most of your holiday packaging, paper, envelopes, gift bags and tissue paper can be recycled using the curbside cart.

However, wrapping paper with glitter, foil or holographic material, along with ribbons, bows, bubble wrap and foam packing peanuts are not accepted.

If you want to make sure an item can be recycled you can use the city’s waste wizard.

You can find it at this link and you can type in whatever material you have that you want to recycle and the wizard will tell you how properly dispose of it.

You can also find the 2023 curbside recycling and garbage pickup dates using the same link.
