Drug alert issued for Cranbrook area

Interior Health has issued a drug alert for the Cranbrook area after higher-than-average concentrations of fentanyl, fentanyl analogue or benzos were found in samples.

IH officials said the drugs sampled look like red and orange chunks.

If you are going to use drugs, IH recommends doing it around other people or at an overdose prevention site.

They said the risk of overdose is high and even more so in cold temperatures.

Users should carry naloxone and know how to use it.

The drug alert will be in effect until Dec. 7 and more information can be found here.
