Vehicle accident closes Highway 95 north of Brisco

UPDATE (12:14 p.m. Wednesday, Nov 23, 2022):

Highway 95 north of Brisco is now open to single-lane alternating traffic after a vehicle accident Wednesday morning.

First responders are on the scene, working to recover a vehicle.

Golden-Field RCMP officials said drivers should expect delays of up to 20 minutes along that stretch of road.

Drive BC officials estimate the road to fully reopen by 3 p.m.

ORIGINAL STORY (9:40 a.m. Wednesday, Nov 23, 2022):

Highway 95 is closed north of Brisco following a vehicle accident on Wednesday morning.

Drive BC officials said an assessment is in progress at Joseph Road, and no detours are available for now.

Invermere firefighters were first dispatched to the area just after 8 a.m. on Wednesday.

First responders are on the scene, and drivers are asked to use caution in the area.

Drive BC is reporting compact snow, slush and slippery sections along the highway between Radium Hot Springs and Golden.
