Kimberley to open three outdoor skating rinks

Kimberley residents will have plenty of options on how they enjoy the outdoors this winter.

City officials said there will be three outdoor skating rinks available to the public.

They will be at the following locations:

  • Townsite outdoor rink – at the corner of 6th Avenue and Moyie Street.
  • Swan Park rink – At the corner of Swan Avenue and Diamond Street.
  • Garden Park rink – At the end of Dewolfe Avenue.

City officials said staff and volunteers are working to get ice at the rinks, and residents are asked to keep off of them until the job is done.

The public is also asked to stay off the rink when they need maintenance, there are poor ice conditions or there is a closed sign posted nearby.
