Local events get tourism grant money

Four tourism events in Cranbrook and Kimberley have received provincial funds.

In Cranbrook, the 2023 Just Liquid Wasa Lake Triathlon and Event received $10,000.

$10,000 was also given for the next Sam Steele Days.

“B.C.’s many sports competitions, arts festivals and events are vital to our tourism sector and a thriving economy,” said Lisa Beare, Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport.

“This program allows organizers to raise awareness about their amazing events and inspires British Columbians and people from around the world to attend.”

Kimberley’s JulyFest was given $10,000 and $12,00 will go towards the 2023 Western Canadian Cross Country Skiing Championships.
