Wildstone, Shadow Mountain and Industrial Park water shutoff to happen next week

A major shutdown to Cranbrook’s watermain will happen next week impacting users in Wildstone, Shadow Mountain and the Industrial Park.

The shutdown was supposed to happen this week but was delayed by the drop in temperatures.

The shutoff will begin at 6 p.m. on Nov. 16 and end at 10 a.m. on Nov. 17.

City staff said contractors need to complete the disconnect of the watermain from the decommissioned pressure-reducing valve station located at the Wildstone entrance.

Residents are encouraged to have a supply of water beforehand for drinking, washing food and brushing teeth.

They also recommend filling up a tub so water can be used to flush toilets.

Once water service is restored you may notice discoloration. This can be fixed by running the cold water tap until it runs clear.
