Police looking for suspects and witnesses in Fernie B&E

The Elk Valley RCMP is investigating a break-and-enter at the Fernie Subway early on Nov. 7.

Police said they attended the scene at 6:20 a.m. at the restaurant located at 441 Crowsnest Highway.

Staff arrived at the restaurant to find the front door smashed in and some items missing, including the business safe.

Police said video cameras showed that the suspects entered the business at 9:35 p.m. the night before.

The Elk Valley RCMP released the photo of a possible suspect vehicle seen fleeing the area.

Police said it was a white SUV with at least two occupants who were headed northbound on 9th Avenue.

No additional witnesses or suspects are known to police at the time of writing.

Police think there may have been some witnesses who saw something suspicious at that location given the time it took place.

If you have any information, contact the Elk Valley RCMP at 250-425-6233 to speak with an officer or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477) to remain anonymous.
