Kimberley chair lift still expected to be ready by season opener

Repairs to the chairlift at the Kimberley Alpine Resort are still underway, but officials said it’s expected to be ready by the third week of December which lines up with opening day.

Resort officials said the lift manufacturer did run into some challenges and required additional electronic components.

Parts have been secured and will arrive later this month.

Other work is going on at the resort as well.

Resort officials said snowmaking crews are trained up and ready to start making snow, which could begin this weekend.

They ask that you do not approach or get close to the snowmaking equipment or work crews.
