The case of a blade being found in Halloween candy has been solved, but there was no malicious intent according to Cranbrook RCMP.
On Halloween night, the police tweeted out a warning to parents to check candy after a blade was found in a box of chocolate.
RCMP officials said they sent out the tweet in an abundance of caution, but there ended up being no real risk.
“Over the past few days, Cranbrook RCMP attended the store where the candy was bought,” said Cst. Katie Forgeron.
“An extensive investigation was conducted and it appears the blade was inserted into the box during the manufacturing/distribution process.”
“The store in Cranbrook where the candy was bought does not use the type of blades located in the box,” added Forgeron.
The blade also wasn’t found in a specific piece of candy but was embedded in the box.
