Elk Valley under snowfall warning

The Elk Valley is expected to see 10 to 20 centimetres of snowfall in the region by Wednesday morning.

According to Environment Canada, the rain will change to snow on Tuesday morning around Sparwood and around noon in the Fernie area.

“The heaviest snowfall is expected late this afternoon and early evening, impacting the evening commute. Snow will taper off to a few flurries near midday Wednesday,” said Environment Canada.

Drivers are asked to prepare for quickly changing conditions and possibly reduced visibility.
