Two new members have been voted onto the ʔaq̓am Office of Councilors after Wednesday’s election.
ʔaq̓am officials say incumbent Jason Andrew and newcomer Dallas Cardinal-Clement won their seats with 106 and 77 votes respectively.
“I think ultimately, we’re going to have a good council,” said Nasuʔkin Joe Pierre Jr. “I think it’s a good time for a renewal of the relationship with the City of Cranbrook and Kimberley.”
A total of 137 ballots were cast in the election.
