Construction moves ahead on Elkford’s downtown core

Boivin Road between Alpine Way and Elk Street in Elkford will be closed periodically for the next two weeks.

District of Elkford officials said crews will be using that time to upgrade the water mains, and this work will impact traffic.

“Depending on the work being completed that day, this may be single-lane alternating traffic or full closures with designated detour routes,” said Elkford officials.

Business access will remain open, with parking available between the post office and Kapp’s building.

Drivers are asked to obey all signs and detour routes when traffic is altered.

“While travelling through any work zone, remember to give workers extra room, obey the posted speed limits and be prepared to stop if needed,” said Elkford officials.
