The City of Fernie is making some changes to how they count election ballots.
The city will be using electric ballot counters in the upcoming municipal election.
Voters will mark their ballot and then have the choice of letting an election official feed the ballot into the machine or they can do it themselves.
According to the city, this will let people now the results of the election much quicker than before.
The municipal election is set for Oct. 15.
