Driver Fined in Invermere After Passing Stopped School Bus

Columbia Valley RCMP has issued a $368 fine and added three demerit points to a driver’s licence after they failed to stop for a school bus in Invermere.

According to Columbia Valley RCMP, Rocky Mountain School District 6 reported the incident to police on Wednesday, October 16th.

Reportedly, a small dark-coloured pickup truck failed to stop for a school bus on Highway 93/95 at Capilo Way in Invermere, despite the bus having its red lights flashing and its stop sign out and activated.

“Images from the school bus camera system were turned over to police,” confirmed Columbia Valley RCMP.

As a result, the driver is being issued a $368 violation ticket and three demerit points on their license, which is the consequence for failing to stop for a school bus in British Columbia.
