RCMP seeking hit-and-run suspect

An elderly pedestrian ended up in the hospital when he was the victim of a hit-and-run.

Cranbrook RCMP said the 75-year-old man was struck early in the afternoon on June 30th near the public library.

A truck hit the man while he was walking through the crosswalk, resulting in non-life-threatening injuries.

“RCMP received statements from witnesses advising that a vehicle described as an older Dodge pickup truck allegedly struck the male while he was in the crosswalk and then took off without rendering assistance,” said Cst Katie Forgeron.

RCMP officials are asking the public or the driver to come forward with information about the incident.
