Accidents down in Kimberley, up in Columbia Valley

According to ICBC’s 2021 crash data, Kimberley saw fewer accidents than in 2020, but other communities in the Columbia Valley saw a rise.

Kimberley saw 33 accidents, down from 35.

Invermere had 26 which was an increase from 15 in 2020.

Windermere went from four to 11.

Fairmont Hot Springs’ crashes doubled but only from four to eight.

This however does not include accidents that occur in parking lots or accidents involving parked vehicles.

ICBC noted that crash location information is self-reported and cannot always be verified.
