Invermere launches Toby Creek flood survey

The District of Invermere is looking to assess flood risks associated with Toby Creek by asking residents to share their experiences with flooding.

District officials said staff are hoping to develop a flood management plan for the Athalmer neighbourhood, next to the creek.

“When flooding occurs in the creek, the water may take an unpredictable path towards the river, causing damage in the neighbourhood due to close proximity,” said district staff. “Your input will help the district mitigate and support flooding emergencies in this area.”

Residents have until July 22 to provide their input.
