The search for a missing American kayaker in the Bugaboo Creek area has been suspended but the RCMP will continue to investigate.
Police say the water is too high to continue their search for Peter Jolles from Virginia.
“At this point, we have exhausted land and air search efforts and conditions are far too dangerous for continued water efforts. We will look at these opportunities in the future when water levels recede,” says Sgt. Darren Kakuno of the Columbia Valley RCMP.
“While search efforts have been suspended, the Columbia Valley RCMP will continue to investigate until such time that Jolles is located.”
