Cranbrook residents are being reminded to keep garbage collection areas free of obstruction for waste removal teams.
“The safety and well-being of our staff working to provide important services to our residents and businesses in the City of Cranbrook is paramount in our operations,” said city officials. “Garbage collection is one of our core services and requires repetitive and often heavy lifting by our collection team. For safety and to reduce the risk of injury there are a few things residents can do to help.”
Residents should also make sure garbage bags are securely closed at the top and strong enough to withstand lifting and handling.
City officials said bags or containers cannot with more than 20 kilograms (44 lbs.) each.
