Construction work will have a portion of Cranbrook’s Cobham Avenue will be closed on Wednesday while crews install a water main.

City officials said the road will be closed from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 248 Cobham Avenue West.

Drivers and pedestrians looking to access businesses on the west side of the closure will have to use the Jimsmith Lake crossing while work is underway.

Those who want to access businesses to the east of the closure must use the entrance from King Street/Slater Road.

“Nearby businesses and residents may experience some discoloured water once the construction is complete and the water main is charged. Please run your cold-water tap until the water runs clear,” said City staff. “We appreciate the patience and understanding of the public and those businesses impacted by this important project.”

The public is asked to obey all posted signs in the area while construction work is going on.
