Kimberley residents asked to contact province for deer complaints

With the onset of deer fawning season, City of Kimberley officials said reports of aggressive and protective deer increase.

According to staff, city council members are disappointed in the lack of provincial support to control the urban deer population.

“Urban deer are a Provincial issue and even though municipalities across British Columbia have sought support, the Province has yet to come through in any meaningful way,” said city officials.

As a result, city council is directing residents to the proper contact information for reports and complaints regarding urban deer.
