Lussier Hot Springs closes due to high water

Lussier Hot Springs in White Swan Lake Provincial Park is closed temporarily due to rising water in the area.

A notice on the BC Parks website asks park-goers to obey closure signage and to monitor the webpage for any updates.

The area was downgraded to a high streamflow advisory on Tuesday.

That means river levels are rising or expected to rise rapidly but major flooding isn’t expected.

There is still the possibility of flooding in low-lying areas.

The River Forecast Centre says more rain is expected in the longer-range forecast and advisories may need to be upgraded.

There is no timeline of when the hot springs will re-open.
