The province is holding an open house to provide an overview of the Highway 95 Kicking Horse River Bridges 1 and 2 project and get the public’s feedback.
According to B.C. government officials, the bridges were built in 1952 and are nearing the end of their life.
The bridges serve as an essential connection for residents to businesses in the area and are a key regional link between Highway 1 and communities along Highway 95.
The province says approximately 13,000 vehicles use the bridges per day.
The cost of the project hasn’t been determined. It won’t be until the preliminary design work and input from the community have been completed.
An in-person hearing to view the preliminary designs will take place on June 23, from 3-7 p.m. at the Golden Civic Centre.

The province will be accepting feedback from June 23 until July 15.
