Local resident Richard Wayken has been hired as Canal Flats’ new Chief Administrative Officer.
Village staff say it involved a lot of work by mayor and council to find the best person for the job.
Wayken served in the Canadian Armed Forces and has an over 25-year record of leadership roles in government, energy, agriculture, forestry and IT sectors.
He will be sworn in at Monday’s council meeting.
His first day on the job will be on June 20.
