Cranbrook begins paving and phase two of Mount Royal projects

A number of the City of Cranbrook’s paving projects are set to get underway this week.

Starting on Wednesday afternoon, the City’s contractor, BA Blacktop, will begin pavement milling operations on 12th Street North and Willowbrook Drive.

City officials said milling work will move to Slater Road and Larch Drive on Thursday.

Over the following two weeks, the areas will be resurfaced with new asphalt.

On Friday, asphalt removal for the phase two area of the Mount Royal reconstruction project will begin.

The City said it is important for drivers to slow down in these areas for their safety and the safety of construction workers.

“Flaggers and signage will be in place along with construction speed zone signs, which must be obeyed,” said City of Cranbrook staff. “Every effort will be made to complete this work as quickly as possible to minimize the disruption to residents.”
