Council Endorses Efforts of Cranbrook Tourism

Cranbrook Tourism is getting a ringing endorsement from Cranbrook City Council as they continue to promote the community abroad.

City Council recently learned that Cranbrook Tourism was instrumental in doubling the city’s website traffic over the past year while also increasing traffic to the visitor centre by 37%.

“They are really profiling the tourism in Cranbrook and around Cranbrook,” said Ron Popoff, Cranbrook City Councillor .”What I’m hoping for is that they will continue to make Cranbrook an international destination for all of our recreation tourism opportunities while still keeping accessibility to our tourism opportunities relatively stable for our local residents.”

Popoff is pleased that Cranbrook Tourism is improving perceptions of the community and increasing awareness about the area’s unique recreation opportunities.

Although Cranbrook Tourism is doing a lot of work to promote the community, Popoff believes that local residents also have a role to play.

“Ambassadors is something we could all do as community residents, whether it’s promoting our tourism opportunities or cash out of the Lower Mainland and come and move and work and enjoy lifestyle here in Cranbrook,” Popoff told MyEastKootenayNow.com.” Cranbrook residents should be ambassadors of Cranbrook, for all things including tourism.”
