Cranbrook RCMP is trying to identify a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run with a 12-year-old girl.
The incident took place around 3:00 pm Sunday, Oct 6, on 21st ave South.
“Two young females had been walking their bikes along the road when a passerby heard a thud and saw one of the girls lying in the street,” said Cranbrook RCMP. “The witness attempted to go after the suspect truck until the truck sped away at a high rate of speed and ran a stop sign.“
According to the RCMP, the girl has undergone surgery for her injuries and is recovering in the hospital.
Police say the vehicle is described as a white Ford F150 with off-road tires and an Alberta license plate.
According to the RCMP, the vehicle is damaged on the front passenger side, along with missing the mirror on the same side.
The truck was last seen heading westbound on 2nd Street South.
