Libertarian Candidate Refused from Federal Election

The Libertarian Party of Canada will no longer have a candidate in the Kootenay-Columbia riding.

In a Facebook post, candidate Terry Tiessen announced he has been refused from running, as he had an insufficient amount of signatures.

“It is with a sad optimism that I am announcing my refusal from this election. The nomination package came up just a little short,” Tiessen said in his post.

He added that he is grateful to his supporters, and will put his faith for this election behind another candidate.

“I personally believe that there is enough of a cross platform compatibility, that I am giving my endorsement in this particular election to the PPC candidate, Rick Stewart,” Tiessen’s statement concluded.

Tiessen added that he plans to continue pursuing a career in politics, and will be running in the 2021 provincial election.
