Cranbrook Searching for New Fire Chief

The City of Cranbrook is looking for a new Fire Chief, following the departure of Wayne “Dez” Desjardins.

As of Monday, the City of Cranbrook said Desjardins left the department due to “personal and family reasons” after holding the position as Director of Cranbrook Fire and Emergency Services in March 2019.

Desjardins filled the vacant position after former Director Wayne Price left his role in order to run in the municipal election, eventually winning and becoming one of Cranbrook’s six City Councillors.

“The City of Cranbrook appreciates Wayne’s efforts during his time with Fire & Emergency Services, and wishes him success in his future endeavours.”

Scott Driver, Deputy Director of Cranbrook Fire and Emergency Services will fill the Director position in the interim until the City finds a replacement.
